My first Mother’s Day
For a change I did not just celebrate my mother, my elder sister – Dr A and others on mother’s day, I was actually celebrated too. On the morning of my first mother’s day, my mind wandered to the previous year’s mothers day. I had prayed very vehemently that it would be the last mother’s day I would not be a mother. Funnily, I was not the only one praying for this gift; I was joined by my mother and mother-in-law. I even ate from my church mother’s day cake with faith that I was a mother-to-be. Later that month, I confirmed that I was really a mother-to-be.
So here I was a year later, with my little cute face. It was a wonderful day with gifts from LH on behalf of Baby JOOD, my church and some very good friends of mine. One set of friends gave me a mother’s day treat of full body massage and facials while another babysitted Baby JOOD and drove me from the hotel where the massage took place.
It was a nice massage treatment which should have taken me to the clouds but I was kind of distracted as this was the first time I had a minder for Baby JOOD. I have a little vivid and horrible imagination which acts up a lot, so lets just say I was not in the clouds. However, I got regular updates on Baby JOOD which calmed my foolish imaginations.
The massage, facials and time spent in the relaxation room were much needed to soothe all the tensions accumulated since Christmas eve. After about four hours, it was time to get back to work.
It was my first and best mother’s day. Thank you, God for your grace and favour to be a mother, LH for your role in my motherhood journey, SMO for the relaxation treatment and Lady S for caring for JOOD while I had a few hours vacation!
